Welcome to our Bully page. We
trust you have probably been researching the Web for
awhile now in your quest for the best bulldog puppy
you can find. If this is one of your first stops on
your journey, we strongly urge anyone interested in
purchasing a bulldog puppy to educate themselves on
this unique and very individualized dog. English
bulldogs are not your typical dog. And for those
intending to house their dog outside while gone,
this is not the dog for you. Due to the nature of
the English Bulldog they cannot regulate their body
temperature like most dogs, often succumbing to heat
and cold very easily. Indoor living is basically not
an option but a necessity. Luckily, they have a
temperament for indoor living. While others are out
playing frisbee and running through fields, the
Bully is quite content with the couch potato life
style.
Anyone, that has looked into purchasing a Bully
knows it doesn't take long to notice one common
thread that runs through most breeders ads. That
thread is the seemingly outlandish price that we all
ask for one of our baby bullies. The price is not
simply a reflection of the popularity of the breed
but the time and expense required to bring forth a
litter of these incredible puppies. English Bulldogs
are what some veterinarians refer to as man-made
dogs. This simply means that through selective
breeding many years ago, breeders were able to
achieve the distinct features in bulldogs necessary
for them to do the job they were originally designed
for (bull bating - giving them their distinctive
look.) However, this also caused the breed to suffer
very high rates of infertility and typically the
inability to whelp on their own. With the cost of
surgical insemination and then a c-section to
deliver, followed by weeks of round-the-clock
observation and care (bitches have a tendency to lay
on top of the puppies to nurse inadvertently
suffocating puppies within the first several weeks
after whelping) the price is a reflection of the
time and dedication that a litter of bullies
require.
This said, we do understand that $2000.00+ is still
a lot to ask for a puppy. This is why we chose a
foundation stock that would offer extraordinary show
and breeding potential. Our line of English Bulldogs
stem from the CH. Cherokee Dakota Robert. CH. Cherokee
Dakota Robert had more wins than any other dog in
Bulldog history. He won Best of Breed at Westminster
four years in a row. He is currently on the cover of
"A New Owners Guide to Bulldogs." We are doing
everything in our power to ensure that the integrity
and superiority of this line is passed on into the
newest generations of Bullies.
